US Coast Guard Cadet Visit

13/3/2015

Picture
Today we had the pleasure of hosting a visit to the station by some of our colleagues from the US Coast Guard.

The Visitors were cadets from the USCG Academy in New London, Connecticut. They are travelling around Ireland taking in IRCG facilities as part of their spring break. The cadets spend four years at the academy before they qualify.

The two services are different with the majority of the USCG career based as opposed to the mostly unpaid role performed by IRCG teams, however both share a similiar motto of "Sempre Paratus" or Always Ready".
