Incident 78/15
Howth CG along with Howth RNLI were tasked on last Friday evening at 17.53 at the request of Gardai to reports of a missing person who may have been seen in the Howth area that morning. An intensive search of the harbour area was carried out until 21.30 by 23 CG volunteers. At first light both on Saturday and Sunday mornings the search resumed including the Howth CG boat and crew using a side scan sonar. Nothing was found and the Gardai continued their investigation.
The incident was resolved today, Monday, when the person was found safe elsewhere. Incident 78/15 Howth Coast Guard's underwater sonar response unit were tasked this morning at 08.00 to assist Gardai in Navan with the search for a missing person who was seen entering the Boyne yesterday. The unit covered the Boyne river in Navan town with the assistance of Meath Civil Defence. They were stood down at 16.00 with nothing found. Gardai are continuing their inquiries.
Incident 77/15 At 05.30 Wednesday morning Howth Coast Guard were tasked to assist Gardai in the search for a missing person in the Howth area.
As the unit were assembling at the station Dublin CG NMOC stood the team down as the person had been located. Incident 76/15 On Friday afternoon last the team along with Ccoast Guard Rescue Helicopter 116 and Howth RNLI were tasked to a kite surfer reported to be in difficulty off the East Pier in Howth. An extensive search was carried out and nothing located. The search is stood down for now with the Coast Guard continuing to investigate the callout.
Incident 75/15 Early this morning, Thursday, unit attended helicopter transfer by Coast Guard Rescue 118 from Sligo. Smoke Flare deployed and casualty transferred to ambulance. NAS Ambulance and Dublin fire brigade also in attendance.
Wednesday 4th November unit tasked along with Dun Laoghaire Rnli to person in the water off Bull Wall in Dollymount. HCG unit were on scene within 5 minutes and determined it was a false alarm with good intent. Incidents 73/15 and 74/15 |
