Howth tasked to Sandymount to investigate person in danger of being cut off by tide on Saturday 21st. After further information received Dun Laoghaire tasked as it was closer unit.
Incident 53/13
Howth Coast Guard were tasked today at 14.00 to prepare a landing site for Rescue 118. The National Ambulance Service had requested the Coast Guard to medivac a casualty from Castlebar hospital to Beaumont in Dublin. The unit assembled and went to the site beside the hospital, checked it, secured it and awaited arrival of the helicopter. The unit kept the site secure while the helicopter was on the ground and the crew performed the casualty handover at the hospital. The helicopter and crew departed at 1645. The team was back on station at 17.30.
