A member of the public reported witnessing a person in difficulty in the water near Sutton Dingy Club. He contacted the Coast Guard emergency operations centre who tasked Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue 116, a Coast Guard Search Team from Howth, the RNLI inshore lifeboats from Howth and Dun Laoghaire along with local Gardai. A detailed search with over 40 personnel was carried out with resources focused on an area between Dollymount Beach and Sutton.
Search Teams returned for a low water search the following morning at 3.30am. Coast Guard personnel searched the shallow waters in the area the person was last seen. The team was stood down at 5.30am. A further low water search was carried out at 4pm which included LIfe Guards from Dollymount. Gardai are continuing to investigate.
