Person in the water Hoax Call & Heli Landing

On Sunday 12th at 4am the Coast Guard 999 operations centre received a call reporting someone in the water between the Baily Lighthouse and Sutton. Howth Coast Guard and Howth Lifeboat were tasked. As the team were mobilising the call was discovered to be a hoax call. All assets were stood down. Hoax calls put an unnecessary risk on both Coast Guard and RNLI crews. Gardai are investigating.

On Sunday 12th at 5pm the Coast Guard team were tasked to a Helicopter landing at Beaumont. The casualty had faller earlier at Bray Head and was attended to by our colleagues in Greystones CG and Coast Guard Rescue 116. R116 landed and the team assisted with the transfer to a waiting ambulance.
