This evening the Irish Coast Guard unit at Howth were tasked to assist Coast Guard Rescue helicopter 116 with a Medical Evacuation landing.
The helicopter landed at the OBI fire brigade training centre on Malahide Road and personnel assisted transporting the casualty to a waiting ambulance. Dublin Fire Brigade were also in attendance.
This is believed to be the first HEMS operation for Rescue 116 since the new helicopter went live this month.
