Howth Coast Guard were tasked at 15.30 on Friday to facilitate a landing at Beaumont hospital by Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue 115 which was en route from Galway with a patient. A team assembled and went to the landing area at the hospital and cleared the area for a safe landing and patient transfer.
While at the landing area waiting for the helicopter the unit received a request to go to Portmarnock beach to locate a missing child which became separated from it's mother. The team split and the majority of the team went to Portmarnock in the unit's van and a Garda car leaving a core to assist with the patient. On arrival the child was quickly found safe and was reunited with it's mother.
