Howth Coast Guard were tasked tonight after members of the public reported seeing a flare over Dublin Bay. The North shore was searched and with nothing to report the unit was stood down.
Later reports were received of a fireball/meteor seen over the bay around the same time. It is assumed the flare reports were sightings of this phenomenon.
