While out on exercise today Howth Coast Guard boat was tasked to assist in the search for a missing kayaker in Howth sound. The boat proceeded from Malahide estuary to a report of an upturned canoe in the Howth harbour area. The kayaker had become separated from their boat and it was discovered that he had made it to Ireland's eye. All units were stood down after the canoe had been recovered. Also taking part were Skerries and Howth inshore lifeboats.
Howth's boat was also tasked to a report of a dog in trouble in Malahide but was stood down while en route.
