Yacht in Trouble at Dun Laoghaire
Howth Coast Guard boat 'Grainne' was tasked at 17.10 today while on patrol to a report of a yacht with two people on board taking water. The yacht was reported behind the East side of Dun Laoghaire harbour. Dun Laoghaire lifeboat was tasked also and was on the way. Grainne was off Howth Head when tasked to aid the yacht.
A Pan Pan had been issued by Dublin Coast Guard and a vessel in the area was first on scene to assist followed closely by Dun Laoghaire lifeboat. The two people on board were ok and the yacht was taken in tow by the lifeboat. Grainne was stood down at 17.30.
