At 14.17 on Sunday the Howth Coast Guard boat was tasked while on patrol to a broken down vessel two miles East of the Baily lighthouse. Two people were on board the 23' vessel which had lost all power. Grainne's crew took the casualty in tow and proceeded to Dun Laoghaire harbour. The vessel was safely alongside the marina at 15.45.

Later in the afternoon the boat crew came across four people at the bottom of a very dangerous and steep cliff on Howth Head. They were just finishing a bar-b-q and had been fishing from the water's edge. The two females in the group were panicked as the ascent was very steep and they were having trouble half way up the slope. The boat crew contacted the bike patrol which was in the area and asked them to assist. The two bike team members went to the scene and helped the casualties to ascend a safer route.
