Howth are one of 17 Cliff Rescue Units around the coast of Ireland. We operate with full capability to recover casualties from steep or vertical ground. We train and operate on the sea cliffs of Howth Head.
Our Gear Van carries a full compliment of equipment to achieve a full cliff top setup, and send up to four climbers over the edge with a trauma kit and spine-board. Rescuers may climb back up the cliff with a casualty in either a stretcher or walking casualty harness by a top-haul system operated by the cliff top team.
