Update on callouts for Howth Coast Guard

Person Enters Water at Broadmeadows Estuary

Howth Coast Guard were alertedĀ this morningĀ at 0233 to a report from Gardai of a person entering the water at Broadmeadows estuary in Malahide. As the team were assembling at the station a call came through from Dublin Coast Guard MRCC that the Gardai had recovered the person so the team were stood down.

Man Falls at Balscadden Cliff

At 16.40 Howth Coast Guard were tasked to Balscadden in Howth where a man had fallen on the cliff and required assistance. The team arrived quickly and assisted the Coast Guard rescue helicopter to winch the injured man to safety.

Howth Coast Guard were tasked at 07.53 this morning to assist in the airlift of a man who fell while out running on Dollymount beach. Last night at 21.25 Howth CG were alerted to go to assistance of persons in water on Portmarnock beach. While the team were assembling at the station the unit received a call from Dublin MRCC that the persons had removed themselves and the unit were stood down.

At 0300hrs this morning, Howth Coast Guard were tasked by Dublin Coast Guard Marine Rescue Co-ordination centre. HM Coastguard based in Liverpool was concerned about the fate of a vessel.
