Remote Technical Rescue

IRELAND’S EYE ISLAND, NORTH DUBLIN - Today Howth Coast Guard unit undertook an exercise in remote technical rescue. With D-Class rescue boat cover provided by Drogheda Coast Guard, the unit attempted a number of different island rescue scenarios.

Howth Coast Guard were alerted at 18.21 tonight to assist CG Helicopter rescue 116 in the recovery of a casualty at Balscadden who had been out walking, had fallen and sustained a broken leg. Howth Search for Missing Person

Howth Coast Guard were tasked by MRCC Dublin at 21.49 last night to assist Gardai in the search for a missing person who had left a group of walkers on the cliff path earlier in the day but did not rejoin the group. The group were concerned for their colleague and reported it to Gardai.

Flare at Sutton
