Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

WEST PIER, HOWTH - This weekend Howth Coast Guard hosted an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) course provided by Aware. Howth Coast Guard unit were tasked today at 15.45 to recover a body seen at the shoreline at Balscadden. Busy Sunday for Grainne

While out on patrol today Howth Coast Guard boat ‘Grainne’ and her crew went to the assistance of three craft in difficulty.

At 14.20 she took over a tow of a RiB which had suffered engine failure on the North side of Ireland’s Eye. A lobster fishing vessel had taken it in tow but requested ‘Grainne’ [...]
