Assistance Given to Rescue 116 on Liffey

Yesterday afternoon Howth Coast Guard gave assistance to Helicopter Rescue 116 in an operation on the River Liffey. A person was seen jumping from O’Connell Bridge and R116 was tasked to the scene by Dublin MRCC. Two volunteers established a communications base for R116 at the scene and liaised with Gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade. [...]

Person Assisted at Baily Lighthouse

Howth Coast Guard were alerted at 11.00 this morning to a person in difficulty at the Baily Lighthouse. Gardai were on scene and requested the assistance of the Howth RNLI and Howth CG. A person had climbed down on the rocks, become disoriented, and could not get off.

Rescue: Difficult Transfer To Lifeboat

BALSCADDEN, HOWTH - At 1.20pm this afternoon (Thursday 5th February) Gardai tasked Howth Coast Guard Cliff Rescue Team and the Howth RNLI lifeboat to assist a female who had got into difficulty on the cliffs at the Nose of Howth near Balscadden on Howth Head.
