Yesterday afternoon while on patrol in Dublin Bay, the crew of Howth Coast Guard boat ‘Grainne’ received a call from Dublin MRCC to go to the assistance of swimmers off the beach in Donabate. Howth ILB were also tasked.

The crew went quickly to the scene but on arriving were told by bystanders and the Gardai that the swimmers had left the water and the beach and were no longer in difficulty. They had apparently been trying to swim to Lambay Island.
