Howth Coast Guard unit were on hand to assist in the landing of helicopter ‘Mike Echo Sierra’ at St. Paul’s school Raheny on Thursday. The occasion was a pre-arranged visit to the transition year students in the college. The unit gave a talk on the Coast Guard before the helicopter arrived and all the students got to see up close the work of the rescue service.

Prior to the aircraft’s arrival the team walked the sports pitches for debris, laid down smoke and then ensured that the landing zone area was clear for the helicopter to land.
