Howth Volunteers Shoot to Success

Body Recovered from Dublin Bay

Yesterday while finishing their patrol for the day the crew of the Howth Coast Guard boat were tasked by Dublin MRCC to recover a body in the water in Dublin Bay. It had been discovered by a passing yacht which reported it’s position and stood by.

Swimmers in Difficulty

Yesterday afternoon while on patrol in Dublin Bay, the crew of Howth Coast Guard boat ‘Grainne’ received a call from Dublin MRCC to go to the assistance of swimmers off the beach in Donabate. Howth ILB were also tasked.

Joint training in Skerries

Howth Coast Guard volunteers were in Skerries over the weekend taking part in a joint exercise which involved volunteers from the Howth, Skerries, Clogherhead and Drogheda Coast Guard units. Boat Crews Complete Sea Survival Courses

Over two months the boat crews of Howth Coast Guard are completing Sea Survival courses in the National Maritime College in Cork to enhance their already extensive training. The volunteers are being trained by Naval Service personnel in all aspects of surviving in the water after an incident.

Busy Sunday for Grainne

On Sunday last while out on patrol involving lifejacket compliance monitoring the Howth Coast Guard boat ‘Grainne’ was called for assistance in three incidents.
