Howth Coast Guard were tasked at 17.00 yesterday to investigate a call to Dublin Coast Guard of a person calling for help at the Baily Lighthouse. Howth arrived on scene quickly and searched the area. Nothing was found initially so the search was expanded to the area north of the Lighthouse. On arriving at the Whitewaterbrook area the unit came across a member of the public who needed assistance. Howth gave assistance and the Gardai and a DFB ambulance were requested. The person was removed to Beaumont hospital for further medical care. Howth volunteers stood down at 18.45
