At 1838 this evening Howth CG were tasked to check if there was a person on the Burrow Beach cutoff by the incoming tide. A volunteer living locally was on scene in one minute and discovered that a woman was standing on the sand back which extends out from Portmarnock Golf Club to quite near the Burrow Beach. She could not make her way to the Burrow Beach so had to walk back to Portmarnock. From the Burrow side it looked like she was stuck, so the concerned caller was correct to alert the Coast Guard. The volunteer stayed until she was safely back.
