On Tuesday evening at 2045hrs HCG were tasked by Mrcc Dublin to investigate a report of pollution in Broadmeadows in the vicinity of Swords Sailing Club. A member of the public had reported a smell of fuel and a slick on the water. A volunteer went to the area and discovered that there was some pollution adjacent to a storm drain which flowed into the estuary. There was a smell in the area and a small amount of a red liquid in the water. It was concluded that it had come from the drain and, as such, was not a marine incident but a matter for the Council, who were informed of the incident. HCG were stood down at 2150 hrs.
