‘A Watch’ crew of Kilbarrack Fire station visited Howth Coast Guard last night as part of a joint education scheme we are running between the two local services. The FB crew were given a run through and explaination of all the equipment on station and the capabilities of the Coast Guard volunteers based in Howth. The crew were particularly interested in the cliff rescue set-up as there is no hi-line rescue based in Kilbarrack.
After the crew had seen all the CG had to offer they took the volunteers through a very interesting tour of all the equipment they carry on the fire appliance and explained it’s use.
All the watches based in Kilbarrack will be visiting the CG station for familiarisation and after that is completed we will be conducting a joint exercise between the two services.
