Howth Coast Guard were tasked last night at 20.35 to a report of 2 people in the water at Cush point near Sutton Golf Club. A volunteer who lives near was on scene within one minute of the alert. When he arrived a girl had just been taken from the water and appeared to be unconscious on the beach. She was being tended to by golfers from the club. Howth ILB and Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue 116 were also alerted. The Howth CG member established she was alive and gave first aid. It was also established that no one else was in the water. Howth ILB and Rescue 116 arrived and first aid was continued. With the help of the lifeboat crew and the helicopter winchman the girl was removed to hospital by ambulance. It is expected she will make a full recovery.
