Overnight Cliff Search Resumes this Morning
Posted in Callouts, Cliff Rescue, Coastal Search, General NewsHowth CG unit were tasked last night at 2150 at the request of the Gardai who were concerned for a man who was last seen at the Summit Carpark in Howth at 2100. Conditions on scene were not good with the wind gusting West force 8 and darkness closing in fast. The Volunteers assembled at the carpark and conducted a full cliff-top search along with Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 116 of an area between the nose of Howth and the Baily lighthouse. The search continued until 0100 in the morning with nothing found.

This morning at 0745 the CG unit received a call from Dublin MRCC that the Gardai had requested a low tide search. The unit assembled at 0930 at the station. Howth ILB and Helicopter R116 were also tasked to assist. Conditions on scene were similiar to last night.

The seach covered the area between the Nose of Howth and Drumleck point which is West of the Baily. An extensive search took place by all the resources involved but again nothing found was reported.

This mornings search continued until 1300 when Howth CG were stood down.
