On Tuesday Howth CG were contacted by Dublin MRCC to say they had received a call from a concerned member of the public that a ‘Yacht’ had lost it’s sail and looked like it needed assistance in the Baldoyle estuary. Due to the caller saying they thought it was a yacht MRCC tasked Howth CG. A volunteer near the scene went to the estuary and discovered it was the moored surfboards that the caller had seen.

This is the third call Howth has had to the boards and Dublin MRCC has received more that a dozen along with Howth Gardai. If you know who owns the boards please ask them to contact Dublin MRCC as it is now the the Coast Guard’s intention to remove the surfboards due to the continuing emergency calls they are generating.

Incident 21/07

17/06 Update: The boards have now been removed
