Howth Coast Guard were tasked early this morning at 01.00 to assist a car stuck in the sand on Dollymount below the high tide mark which was in danger of being consumed by the incoming sea. Two volunteers went to the scene and recovered the car and it’s three occupants to safety.

Howth Coast Guard would again like to remind car drivers that unless life is at risk the emergency services may not respond to recover a stranded car and it is the responsibilty of the car driver to ensure the safety of his vehicle.
