Howth CG were tasked tonight at 23.15 to a report of a flare seen North of Howth Harbour. The area north of the Harbour was checked but nothing unusual was seen. A ship passing the area saw nothing and no report of a flare came from Dublin Air Traffic Control. Visibility was good but sea state was rough tonight.
Considered call with good intent and stood down at 23.50
