Howth Coast Guard were hosts today for a visit by 24 German Police students from The University of Applied Police Sciences in Villingen-Schwenningen. They are on a weeks visit to Ireland and were spending a day in Howth. As part of the trip to Howth they were interested in finding out more about The Irish Coast Guard and their duties. They had first contacted us to arrange the visit before coming to Ireland. They had also paid a visit to the Garda training college in Templemore and the Dublin Garda Headquarters in Harcourt st.
They were conducted on a tour of our station and shown the equipment and resources we have at our disposal. A brief talk was given on the Coast Guard in Ireland and our role as a front line search and rescue unit. As a thank you they presented us with a signed plaque for the station.

After some refreshments they continued their tour with a walk on the cliff path to the Summit.

Dank für Zeigen uns um Ihre Station und für die Gastfreundschaft. Wir sehr wurden beeindruckt. Vielen Dank und
nimmt Sorge
Peter.
