Howth CG was tasked at 0845 yesterday by MRCC Dublin after 2 reports of a flare sighting. A team member went to Dollymount Strand and scanned the area between Howth and Sandymount but saw nothing. Neither had the Dublin Port pilot, the ferry, or any of the three ships anchored in Dublin Bay. It was concluded therefore that while someone had let off a flare it was not at sea and that no further action was necessary. The unit was stood down at 0915.
