Howth Coast Guard were tasked at 01.25 this morning to a report of a man entering the water on Portmarnock strand. Along with Howth Lifeboat and ILB, the Garda Helicopter and the fire service we searched the water and shore for a person in the water reported by another man who was taken from the water by Gardai. After an hour searching the Gardai were happy that there wasn’t anybody else involved and the search was stood down. We returned to our beds at 02.45.
