The training excercise today saw quad driving practice at Red Rock Martello Tower in Howth. The team use the quad as an intricate piece of equipment to ferry loads of climbing gear in its trailer to the cliff top area off-road. It is important to us that the designated drivers feel comfortable and stay practised working with heavy loads and a trailer on the bike.
Stretcher work on steep ground was also covered, with the team learning and refreshing catapillar techniques in raising a stretcher up a confined and steep path while maintaining casualty comfort.
Back at station, the vehicles received their weekly wash and re-fueling while newer members were introduced to spineboard evac methods.
