Howth CG boat Grainne was out on Patrol over this weekend and on both Saturday and Sunday Grainne assisted vessels in trouble. On Saturday Grainne and her crew assisted a Rib which had trouble with her engine and could not start it. She was taken in tow back to Bray harbour. En route the engine was restarted and she was escorted back to Bray.
Today Sunday, Grainne came to the assistance of a large Rib with fuel supply problems near Dalkey Island. She could not start her engine so Grainne towed her back to Dun Laoghaire marina.
On both days the crews continued with lifejacket compliance monitoring and reported good results, although today Grainne’s crew reported a fishing boat with nine on board and only two lifejackets.
