The team were paged today at 1728hrs. In a joint effort between Howth Lifeboat, Dublin Fire Brigade & Howth Coast Guard Unit - two members of the public were rescued from a cliff fall below Balscadden carpark. Howth Inshore Lifeboat dropped two crew members at the bottom of the cliff while a member of the Coast Guard unit descended on safety ropes from the clifftop.

‘Casualty 1′ was recovered on a stretcher by the Inshore Lifeboat and transferred to ambulance at the Lifeboat Station. ‘Casualty 2′ was guided to the clifftop by members of the Fire Brigade and Coast Guard unit. The team stood down at 1900hrs.

Update 14/07/06 11.30.  Casualty 1 described as comfortable in hospital. Casualty 2 discharged last night with minor injuries.
