Suspected Body on Howth Cliffs

The Howth Coast Guard Unit were paged on request of the Howth Gardai this afternoon to investigate a suspect object rolled in a blue sheet on the side of the cliff above Lion’s Head. The package had been reported by two walkers earlier in the day.

Search & Rescue Demonstration

Two Howth climbers last night
Howth & Skerries Coast Guard Units plus the Civil Defence, Fire Service and Dublin Coast Guard helicopter will hold a mini SAR Demo in Donabate/Portrane on Sunday 7th May at 2pm. It will involve a simulated plane crash, chemicals on beach, buildings on fire, recovery operation and cliff rescue.

Body Recovered at Howth East Pier

Howth CG unit were paged at 16.14 today to respond to reports of a person entering the water at the east pier in Howth harbour. Howth ILB responded quickly and recovered the person. Howth 1720 grounded on Claremont beach

At 1910hrs on Wednesday during a scheduled training exercise; MRCC requested the Howth team to achieve visual contact with a yacht reported grounded on Claremont beach in onshore winds. The 1720 racing yacht was recovered by Howth Lifeboat Inshore and safely towed to deeper water out of danger.
