
While out on the cliff path, a member of the Howth Coast Guard team discovered a Polish man at ‘Balscadden’ in the middle of a suspected heart attack. Rescue services were alerted, and the Howth Coast Guard 4×4 Jeep arrived on-scene with first-aid equipment and opened the overhead barriers allowing the ambulance road access right up to the casualty when it arrived.
Two members of the Howth Coast Guard team monitored & supported the casualty for 35 minutes until the ambulance crew arrived. During the incident, two passing joggers reported a blood stained towel on the southern side of the cliffs, the team notified MRCC of the report and proceeded to the area to investigate.
