
This morning, circa 0100hrs - Dublin Air Traffic Control reported a flare sighting from a pilot in the air above Dollymount. The Howth team were requested to investigate from the land, and a team member completed a visual search of the coastal area from local viewpoints before standing down at 0200hrs. There was no sign of any vessel in distress, and the sighting was put down as a hoax flare launched from land.
Conditions: Clear, Good visibility.

Not an April Fools by the way…, 1hr into the day itself.
