Team Callout - Search of South Cliffs

The unit was requested by the Gardai to recover belongings linked to a rescue earlier in the month. An intense search was carried out by members on the south cliffs, beaches & paths of Howth Head. Eleven members of the team searched from 1715hrs until dusk circa 2015hrs.

Body Recovered At Bailey Lighthouse

Vessel Reported In Trouble off Howth

At 1700hrs, Howth CG Unit were tasked by the Dublin Marine Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) to investigate a report, by a member of public, of a vessel in distress off Howth Head. Body of Man Recovered From Sea

Today, the body of a man believed to be in his 40s was recovered from the sea at Howth, Co Dublin, by the Howth Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) near the Bailey Lighthouse.
28/03/06 Garda­ have now confirmed the identity of the man recovered.

Submerged Vehicles on Dollymount

Howth Unit were paged this morning at 0832hrs to investigate a camper van and car submerged on Dollymount Strand. Howth was requested at 21.40 last night to investigate sighting of red flare over Raheny - Sutton area. Reported by Air Traffic Control and member of public.
Conditions good. Nothing found, reported to MRCC and stood down 22.45.
